Behind the cut are classic Leeloni pics from the 2000 GLAAD awards and excerpts from a 2003 interview where Chris & Lee spoke openly about the filming of the Beecher/Keller scenes on OZ and sexuality.

Most have probably seen these, but they *never* get old.

FONTANA ON THE GLAAD KISS: "It made perfect sense to me that they would kiss," proffers series creator Tom Fontana. "Here are these two happily married guys kissing at the gay awards and letting it be photographed because their attitude is, `If people don't understand, fuck `em.' Those guys in particular have been incredibly ballsy in doing anything I asked them to do." MELONI & TERGESEN ON B/K SCENES: In fact, Meloni and Tergesen have had to push for even more explicitly gay content. While shooting a scene that ended with a show of affection, the director of that episode grew uncomfortable, calling "Cut!" early and giggling. "Finally we were like, `Hey, can you just let it run for a minute?' which they always do on these scenes," Tergesen recalls. "And the director goes, `Why, are you going to blow him?' The truth was, a real moment was happening." "And you called him out," Meloni recalls proudly. "Lee goes, `Look, just because you're uncomfortable with the sexuality going on here doesn't mean you have to rain on our fucking parade.'" (EDIT) For their part, Meloni and Tergesen are sad their sentence together has finally ended. Or has it? "It's sad, but I'm excited," says Tergesen, sighing. "I am going to miss working with Chris. He and I went to see Tool on Halloween night. We just went out as ourselves, which I guess you can interpret however you like." Hmmm, I want to figure out which director that was. There are only so many "affectionate" scenes, as many of their interactions on the show were violent or antagonistic. And obvioudly we know it was a man...some research is required, methinks.

They're just too amazing. It's sad that we're in the 21th century already but there's nothing as bold and deep as Oz on TV. I mean, those 'The Hills' girls are the big tv celebrities, these days.

Anyway. I'll never get tired of these two, especially together.;)

I'm glad you were able to find some new pics here! I only wish I could get bigger versions, especially of the huggy/puckered lips one. Hee.

I always thought the scene that is in question was when Keller came back after being shot, and Beecher kissed his wound. I read something else somewhere that put two and two together...but now I can't remember what.

Yes,it was that scene. The director was very uncomfortable when Lee wanted to extend that part of the scene where he kisses the wound. It sounds like Lee would have liked to have gone further with the scene,as "real feelings" were coming out (unintentional pun there!) and they wanted to explore that .
I should go back and see who directed that episode,because obviously that person is a fool :(

You know, you are becoming some kind of a legend around the mexican melonitas and leeleras (that's how we call meloni and lee fangirls down here).

This is sooo going to my collection of pics, chris and lee are the real OTP of all times, they just look so right together, it's like right there is where they truly belong ;)
