Chris Meloni 50th Birthday Campaign Update
Many thanks to all of you who have retweeted and reblogged our campaign for Meloni fans to donate to The Butler Child Advocacy Center in the Bronx to honor Chris on his 50th birthday on April 2nd.

To date, sixteen people have donated $550, which is a fantastic start, but with the fan base this wonderful actor has, there is no doubt we can raise a lot more! Our goal is to raise at least $2000 by his birthday on April second.Every contribution, no matter how small, will help us achieve that goal.

The Butler Center is a one-of-a-kind program that provides services for abused and neglected children. Chris Meloni has been the honorary chair of the Butler Center for the past seven years. He and his wife Sherman have been actively involved in fundraising activities. It is a terrific way to both honor Chris and contribute to a great cause that provides much needed services.

Afterelton.com is having this cool poll over the 50 best LGTB characters in TV. The greta thing is that you can nominee up 9 different names. Of curse, I nominated Beecher and Keller as #1 and #2. Anyway, go vote, it's fun!

Remember this post here, with tons of Meloni in blue pictures and his calf tat revealed (and Sir Ian in purple!)?

~

Ian McKellen gave an impromptu audition for "Law & Order SVU" at last Wednesday's Only Make Believe Benefit in NYC — but only because Chris Meloni forced him to.

"Where were you Tuesday night?" Meloni playfully bellowed to McKellan, giving him his best Detective Stabler interrogation*.

After McKellan said, "I don't know," Meloni demanded: "A little less stuttering, because you sound guilty. Try it again. Where were you Tuesday night?"

When McKellan finally stopped laughing, he muttered: "Christopher, you are so butch."

~

My emphasis in bold, in case you need a whack over the head.

*If it had been his best Stabler impression, there would have been sleeve rolling, a tie tuck, and a perp slam.

Butch. Meloni? Really? SIR YESSIR!

It's time for [livejournal.com profile] spook_me!!

When hot summer days flee from the chill of autumn, when the nights grow longer and the moon shines cold and bright, the veil between worlds lifts to reveal:

The Spook Me Multi-Fandom Halloween Ficathon 2009!

This ficathon was created by [livejournal.com profile] ozsaur and [livejournal.com profile] dustandroses because they love spooky stories. Halloween is the best time of year for reading stories that offer pulse pounding thrills, blood curdling dread and hair-raising horror.

All fandoms are welcome. Stories can be Gen, Het or Slash. All ratings are accepted.

You get to choose your own Creature, but if you want [livejournal.com profile] ozsaur will choose one for you and send it along with your Secret Prompts. This year, the Secret Prompts will be based on the titles of old pulp novels. You may end up with the cover of Murder at Midnight or Death House Doll!

Dates to Know:

September 7: sign ups start
September 15: sign ups end
September 16: prompts sent out
October 20: reminder posted here -- please join the community if you want to get the reminder.
October 27: Master List opens, stories are due!

Click for the creature list, additional rules, etc.

I participated in this writing challenge last year and produced Chaos Theory, which is one of my favorite stories (you know, that I've written). And since it's multi-fandom, there are tons of choices. I remember reading stuff last year from fandoms I'd never heard of. AND it's totally laid-back, loose and easy. So check it out. And pimp it, too!

As an avid facebook user I like to become fans of the things I love on there.  I don't know how much everyone else here uses or even cares about facebook, but look at this horrible fan page that exists for him on there: www.facebook.com/home.php#/pages/Lee-Tergeson-aka-Tobias-Toby-Beecher/34585601315
The first thing that bothers me is they didn't even spell his NAME right!  And second he only has 100some fans.  This is just sad.  I have been considering creating another one myself but am not sure where to begin.  I thought I'd put in a call here and see if anyone here would care to take a stab at this.  I know there's a lot of people here who are even bigger fans of his than I am who could do a REALLY nice job.  Just figured I'd see if anyone wanted to rectify this.  Again I don't know how much everyone uses facebook, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask.  The link to create a facebook fan page is here: www.facebook.com/pages/create.php
Just trying to show Lee the love he deserves.

The 2009 AfterElton Hot 100 results are up!

Meloni's holding his own around the middle of the pack and also ranks on the "Over 40" list. YUM.

Also, a Green Lantern tidbit:

"As the director of the March-released “Wonder Woman” animated feature, [Lauren] Montgomery has some experience with what makes the DC Universe tick from both a storytelling and visual standpoint. And if you asked the talented animation maven herself, she’d tell you that the voice actors behind “First Flight” have a similar level of understanding and ability.

“Christopher Meloni is a very serious actor and really got into the character to understand all the little nuances of exactly what Hal was thinking at every moment,” Montgomery said of the film’s leading man. “He would ask very interesting, detailed, unexpected questions so he could totally get the mind set, and in doing so he was able to deliver an incredible performance that that really defines Hal as a confident hero, but not cocky or a jerk.”

Well, at the last minute I decided what the hell, I'll bid on this bad boy and GUESS WHAT??? I WON! So this will now keep Lee's Chainsaw Jacket company. Thank you [Bad username or unknown identity:  ]for the photoshop!

No really, feedback would be sooooooo appreciated!!! I ain't kidding! Really. I'm begging here!LOL
No, seriously!
I ain't ashamed to beg!
I ain't seeking praise. I want yer honest opinion!

OK, first there was this:
crazy plot bunny

Ya know when I was sixteen I had like a huge crush on my friend's cousin who was like in his mid thirties then. Of course he didn't have a clue, and of course I got over it real quick, especially when Dario, that's the boy who was in my class started paying extra special attention whenever I opened my mouth.
Well, what if Elliot Stabler ,aged sixteen, had this *humongous* crush on this cute ADA working with his father? And his other self  from the year 2008 was *especially exasperated*  with that same dude?
And oh yeah I forgot to emphasize it- it's 1979, it's based on The Life on Mars, and Lee's the one who's time hopping.

And that turned into
THIS part 1
                                     THIS part 2
                                       and THIS part 3

I've been watching Generation Kill on Surf the Channel and I'm astounded by the selection there. Okay, yes, there are Chinese subtitles on nearly everything (not GK, though! *g*) but I'm willing to put up with them to watch all kinds of TV shows/movies/etc. Anyway, Lee's episode of Masters of Horror, "We All Scream for Ice Cream", is there, and it's free and you can watch it full-screen without any blinking ads, which I think is a huge bonus.

Here's the link: http://www.surfthechannel.com/info/television/Masters_of_Horror/54256/S2E10.html?aid=87297

Or, Main Page > See All Television > Masters of Horror > We All Scream for Ice Cream

Easy peasy!

LEE! W00t!

For additional details on this episode, visit The Annotated (& Illustrated!) Lee Tergesen site that has a full recap, picture gallery, and clips including a 'Making Of...'

"Lee Tergesen played Layne Bannixter in "We All Scream for Ice Scream," an installment in the Showtime anthology series "Masters of Horror." The series consists of 13 one-hour telefilms written and directed by some of the big names in the horror genre.

Lee-as-Layne has tons of screen time in this one-hour drama. It's a rare role where (except for the long-ago lapse in judgment) he plays a solid citizen. He's had a successful career and he lives in a grand house with his loving wife, Angela (played Ingrid Tesch)..."

Did I mention there's also shirtless Lee, rolling around in bed Lee, and kissing Lee? Yes. And smoking Lee, for those of us you out there who have a, um, thing for boys smoking.

Apparently whoever edited this trailer decided that the movie, "Bark" (with Lee as the lead), isn't about the husband/wife duo and their (odd) struggle, but about Lisa Kudrow's supporting character instead.

Huh.

If you have seen the movie, you'll probably find this trailer as absurd as I did.   Funny how editing can change the whole feel for a film.  Surely this isn't the 'official' trailer...right?  I can't remember if I ever saw the original (or if it's on the DVD extras...maybe...hmmmm...too lazy to check).  If it IS, well...WTF, CHUCK.

play video on Video Detective
Bark

Heather Morgan (who also scripted the film) portrays a dog-walker who has decided to stop talking and begins to act like the animals she tends to. The film is concerned mostly with her husband Peter (Lee Tergesen) and his attempts to help his wife. The supporting cast of this whimsical comedy includes Hank Azaria as Peter's most trusted friend, Vincent D'Onofrio as a psychiatrist who is in need of some mental health care, and Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow as a veterinarian. Kasia Adamik, the child of famed director Agnieszka Holland, helms this quirky comedy that played at {~the 2002 Sundance Film Festival}. ~ Perry Seibert, All Movie Guide.

Meloni asked lame questions by the "real" paparazzi (TMZ)

SRSLY, who *DOES* give a flying fuck about Miley Cyrus' Vanity Fair pics? Well, not Meloni, that's for sure. What a dumb ass question.

If only Meloni had said, "What a douche bag." Now *that* would have been priceless.

---------------------------------------------

FROM TMZ: Chris Meloni's known for going full frontal on "Oz" and being a tough guy on "Law & Order: SVU" -- not exactly the kind of guy who thinks about Hannah Montana.

I meant to post this yesterday....

I'm on the prowl for an animated icon of Keller in the bra in panties. Does anyone have (or would they be willing to make) an ani icon where it goes from him in the suit, to him in the lingerie?
